- What was I thinking? -

For those of you who don't know, I'm back in Ohio enjoying my life. At least I was until yesterday...

You see, Benj and I had started working out and biking on an almost daily basis. I was doing a really good job of it too, until I was called out to Idaho, which basically meant two whole weeks without any type of physical exertion. Benj on the other hand, had been hard at it those two weeks and actually competed in a duathalon (which we were supposed to do together - seems Idaho was good for something).

Well, he calls yesterday and asks if I want to go for a ride. I should've known better. But being the big brother I am, I couldn't let him show me up, so I agreed.

It started out innocently enough - our usual route down Upper Twin - we'd done that plenty of times before. But for some reason he didn't stop at our usual turn-around point. "That's okay," I thought, "maybe a few more miles." But the miles just kept rolling by - as did the houses, and the hills, and the pain in my legs and lungs.

We finally ended up on 41, which was a huge feat for me. I've been on the road plenty of times and knew we were close to the Lloyd's, at least in a car. By bike, that's the longest 7 miles ever. All told, we ended up biking a very long and tiring 18 miles.

I am, however, still very much alive - and still retain all feeling in my legs, which means - I'm da man!

- Tour de Frankfort, here I come!
